Fibre and the menopause
Did you know that fibre has an important role to play in a healthy menopause?
Fibre in your diet can help to balance oestrogen levels by helping to eliminate old oestrogen through the bowel. If you don’t get rid of oestrogen properly it could lead to it re-circulating and increase your risk of breast cancer.
Wholegrains are great sources of fibre for a healthy bowel. Oats, brown rice, and wild rice are foods that can easily be included in your regular diet. Try making a brown and wild rice salad with cannellini beans and rocket. Dress with fresh lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil.
