Here’s a question I get asked a lot:
How do we know when Menopause has finished?
Terminology used to describe menopause can be confusing at the best of times.
When peri menopause begins ( which can be as early as 35) you are entering a new phase of your life. When you reach menopause (12 months period free, or 24 months if under 50) you will then enter post menopause and you will stay post menopausal for the rest of your life. So, menopause ending is a bit of a misnomer. However, as hormones are now at an all time low and will no longer be fluctuating so wildly, many symptoms will begin to calm down, but dont expect this to happen immediately, they could go on for many years to come, as many of you can testify to, but hopefully not quite so severe.
We have to accept this is a permanent change in our life and adapt to it.
The main cause of concern in the post menopause years are heart and bone health. So keep eating healthy and exercise regularly. Include meditation and calming activities in your day and make sure you take time for yourself and do things you enjoy
