Nadia talks about her menopause
Though menopause came as a shock to Loose Woman Nadia Sawalha, the TV presenter has firmly embraced the next chapter of her life.
Admitting she initially felt ‘ashamed’ about the changes happening to her body, Nadia, 52, took a holistic route to combat the effects.
“I didn’t want anyone to know about it” she says. “But now I have gone completely the other way. U’ve gone holistic and I’ve gone to homeopathy and vitamins and I feel fantastic.”
Nadia likened the arrival of menopause to “being hit by a train” and admits losing weight is harder now.
But it’s not all bad, as she sees her fifties as a time for herself. “Our nurturing hormones have dropped and we don’t have to look after anyone else. We’re going to look after ourselves” she said. “These are the selfish decades”.
Ummm.. Not too sure about them being the selfish years! Maybe in another 10 years or so, but for now I still have work and family to take care of!
